Apparently the Brexit vote will destroy Atlantic flying. Suddenly consumers in the EU and especially the UK aren't going to fly anymore. Right now American Airlines Group (AAL), Delta Air Lines (DAL), and United Airlines (UAL) are down over 5% on the news. All three airlines have a lot of flights into the EU, but one has to wonder how Britain potentially leaving the EU in about two years is going to impact the flow of air traffic. As an example, United Airlines gets about 15% of revenues from Atlantic flights. A 5% decline in the stock suggests that a third of that business is going away. Businesses will still make business trips and consumers will still fly to visit friends and family or take vacations. Considering the valuations with the stocks trading at levels around 5x EPS expectations, these dips continue to be extreme buying opportunities for the legacy airlines.
